Today I'm linking up with Budgeting Bloggers on Franish. It's been forever since I've done a budget post, but I'm glad to be getting back into the swing of things. It's so easy to just spend, spend, spend and not think about how all the purchases are adding up. Something I know I've been way guilty of, it's so hard to not buy all the pretties!
I went a little overboard this month. I got the cardigan when J. Crew was having a 30% off all sale items and just fell in love with the rich, blush color. I took a risk since it was final sale, and overall I'm happy-ish with it. The color is amazing, but it's a little big and on the itchy side. I'm looking forward to playing around with it to see if it will work in my closet. If not, there's always ebay. (You can see how I styled it here). The Loft blouse is just so, so pretty in real life. The color is a perfect cornflower blue. The sleeves can be a bit tricky to roll up, they slip-slide all over the place, but the manager at Loft showed me a trick using rubber bands to hold the sleeves up. I tried to find a tutorial online with no success, so I may have to do a post on it. I recently put in an order to the Loft, and in order to receive $50 off of $100, I threw this ring into the mix. Also, as part of the order, I snagged this tee - it can be dressed up or down, and I'm looking forward to styling it for weekend and work wear! I actually ordered the espadrille flats to wear to a work golf tournament and I LOVE them. I took a risk because they've gotten horrible reviews online, but so far I've worn my three times and they've held up beautifully.
Going forward I want to be a smarter about my purchases versus just buying anything that catches my eye. I know for work I need a good pair of black dress pants, so I'll be keeping an eye out for that. I also mentioned in a previous post that it's time to replace my cognac flats. I did order this gorgeous ikat dress, but my size is back ordered until April 7, so if it works out, I'll include it in next month's budget. I also need to get back into selling some stuff on ebay.
Do you keep a clothing budget? If so, I'd love to hear how you did in the comments below.

Seriously, how cute is this little kiddo? She got to be my model this morning for a rosette headband and barrettes DIY project I completed last night.
I'm so excited, my sister and sweet nieces are coming into town next week. For those of you who don't know, I'm from the great state of Tennessee and my family I grew up with still lives there. While I don't get to see them as much as I would like, thankfully my dad and step-mom have a beach house near me, so we get lots of visiting in.
While the girls are in town, we're going to take some photos of Baby A and her cousins. My sister found the most precious dresses, so I had to make some headbands and barrettes to match! Hot glue burned fingers aside, I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out, though, as with all my projects, if I was to do it again, I'd make some changes.
In all, the project cost me about $10 to make about about 2 hours to complete.

Baby girl has not been feeling well. After two straight days of vomit, diarrhea and lack of sleep, the best I could do this morning was to keep it simple. Got to love those mornings where you're completely exhausted, but you've got to drag you half-dead carcass to work. At least I know once I get there, there will be the nectar of the gods awaiting for me...coffee...mmm...
***I've been playing with Photoshop filters and I think I may have gone a bit overboard. Might as well have some fun, right?***
I am one of those women who's feet grew after pregnancy. Before baby, I was a 8.5 in heels, 9 in flats. Now, everything is off. I'd say I'm an 9.5, but that's not really right. 9's are too tight, 9.5's are too lose. Some brands work better than others. I thought maybe I needed to go to a wide width, but that's not it either. I guess my weird feet have decided to be somewhat between sizes, so shoe shopping has become a bit more difficult. Long story short, it's time to replace these cognac flats from Payless. While they're are not in too bad of shape, they are definitely too tight (thanks post-pregnancy feet)!
Option 1: Banana Republic Ashley Bow Ballet Flat | $49
Fran from Franish raves about these flats. Originally $98, they're on sale for $49. These flats have a soft leather upper seem like they'd be nice and comfortable. I like them, but for some reason, I'm not 100% sold on the bow, but still a cute option.
Option 2: Lucky Brand Emmie Flats | $59
Honestly, these might be my favorites. They're on final sale for $59, with limited sizes available. I'm in love with the stitch detailing on the back and clean simplicity on the front of the shoe. They've gotten really good reviews online as well.
Option 3: Aeorpostale Invite Only Perforated Ballet Flat | $18
Okay, so these probably aren't they best quality shoe, after all they're made of synthetic leather, but I am all heart eyes over the diamond cutout design. Plus, they're a steal at only $18.
Option 4: Modcloth Pretty Photo Shoot Flat in Caramel | $34.99
I just adore the retro vibe of these pretty little flats. I'm not a fan of straps that go straight across the ankle, I feel like they cut off my legs and make them look chunkier, but this T-strap hits just below the ankle, which I think makes all the difference. And yes, hello, my name is contradiction, because I just said I wasn't sure about the bow on option one, but I totally love it on these shoes. Go figure. Unfortunately for me, these shoes do not come in half sizes.

I saw this picture on Instagram (featuring Brittany from The Brunette Bargainista) and was immediately all like, I NEED THIS BAG, STAT. So cute and just funky enough to add some interest to any outfit.
I've been in a serious bag rut. I really only use two bags - the dreaded diaper bag or my trusty Coach Madison Phoebe bag. I love my Coach purse. It's roomy enough for everything and a lovely cognac color that goes with everything, but lately I've been thinking it might be fun to have something new to add to the rotation.
Sadly, the clutch in the picture is sold out, but the website says it should be available in mid-March (which it's definitely after mid-March, so I'm wondering if went in stock and back out again). I'll be keeping my eye out for when it *fingers crossed* hopefully comes back in stock.
In the mean time, here are some really cute options, from most expensive to least, all under $100:
Option 1: Malory Foldover Leopard Leather Clutch Handbag | $98
Soooo pretty. Soft calf hair, lovely folder over design, love, love, love. The bag is 10" wide, 10" tall and looks almost identical to the popular Clare V. clutch at half the price. This version has calf hair on one side, black leather on the other. There is an option with allover leopard print on both sides for $149. If I had $98 spare dollars, it would be mine, right now, right this instant.
Option 2: Lands' End Landmark Calf Hair Holiday Clutch | $79.97
This clutch seems like the most practical of the group. Made of real leather, it has a snap closure, plenty of pockets and a pretty gold detachable chain. It' measures 9.5" long, 6.5" tall. Plus, it comes with a dust bag for storage. Originally $158, on sale for $79.97, this bag is a great deal for the price.
Option 3: Michael Kors Bedford Leopard Hair Calf Clutch | $69
Zipper and lined, this bag is made of 100% leather and has a zippered interior pocket. This bag is the smallest of the lot at 9.75" wide, 5.5" tall and has a wristlet strap for carrying ease.
Option 4: Aldo Longton | $60
I really like how this bag feature a pop of leopard and has a gold chain strap. The envelope design is super cute as well. It's 10.3" wide, 7.1" tall.
Option 5: Abercombie & Fitch Calf Hair Foldover Clutch | $58
Okay, so this clutch isn't leopard, but it is a fun, funky animal print. Plus is has an interior zipper pocket, which would be perfect for keys (I'm always losing my keys in the black hole that is my purse, or maybe that's just me?) This bag is 11.25" long, 4.5" tall, and if animal print isn't your thing, there's a really cute metallic silver version for $38.
Option 6: Forever 21 Faux Leather-Paneled Clutch | $5.90
I can't get over how cheap this bag is. $5, for a bag? Crazy. It's probably the most simple option, with no interior pockets or extra storage. It's sleek and simple, and did I mention, cheap? The bag measures 9.5" wide, 6.5" tall, which makes it comparable to the Michael Kor clutch in size, at about 1/10 the price.

Greetings everyone! It's been so long since I've posted. Six months to be exact. I didn't intended to take such a long break, but when my maternity leave ended and I went back to work, I had a really hard time figuring out how to balance home, work and blog, so I decided the best thing for myself and my family was to take a break. I wasn't sure if it was going to be permanent, and I'm not sure how often I'll be able to post, but I have missed blogging and connecting with all the wonderful people in the blogosphere.
So without further ado, today's outfit post:
