currently I am...

documenting: our 4th of July activities. Since the kiddo is still recovering from her broken collarbone, we had a quiet day. But we did go to the beach for fireworks, which she loved (the green ones where her favorite).

accomplishing: (or at least starting on) putting together the annual magazine for work. I'm doing everything a little bit earlier this year since my due date is right around the same time the magazine goes to press. So to be on the safe side, I'm trying to get a jump start on the publication.

enjoying: a caffeinated treat after yesterday's late night. After fireworks, and quick bath for everyone - it's amazing how sand gets everywhere - it was after midnight before I fell asleep and I was definitely feeling it this morning. I think we should get July 5 off to recuperate, right?

reading: nothing at the moment, but I did pick up a few books from Books-A-Millions bargain section (buy two get one free) that I'm excited to delve into. I purchased Alice Hoffman's "The Ice Queen," Adriana Trigiani's "The Shoemaker's Wife," and Stephanie Clifford's "Everybody Rise."

spending: money on a new 18-month planner. I haven't bought one yet, but some of my favorites are this mint leatherette, white with gold floral, gray polka dot, black floral - and my personal favorite - black with gold foil from Rifle Paper Co.

  1. Woohoo for getting stuff done, especially in pre-baby mode :) And I agree - we always need a day off AFTER a holiday to make the holiday really enjoyable, right?

  2. I agree to a day off after a holiday. I mean, you have to recuperate right? I think it's really cool that you work on magazines! I'm sure it can be stressful, but it sounds really cool to me!

    1. The magazine is fun, and definitely keeps me busy in the summer/fall. The rest of the year I'm busy working on recruitment pieces for the college I work for, designing, writing as well as event planning and pretty much anything else they throw at me. It's a fun job for sure!
