packing: for an upcoming work conference to Nashville. It's looking temps are going to be all over the map with highs in 50s/60s (and 70 on Tuesday!) with lows in the 40s + lots of rain, so I'm thinking layers? Packing post going up in the near future...

jonesing: for a little bit more snow! I saw the white, fluffy stuff for the first time in 10+ years last week, and it was beautiful. I spent the morning just staring out the windows as it came down. Most of the time I love living in Florida, but I do miss seasons...

texting: with my husband about our mutual inability to remember to tell daycare our kiddo was sick and wouldn't be in. She usually goes to daycare at 7:45 a.m., I forgot let them know until almost 11. Whoops. #mommybrain

readingI forgot to grab a book for last week's last minute trip trip to Michigan, so I snagged "Hidden Figures" by Margot Lee Shetterly to pass the time during airport layovers. I haven't gotten too far into it, but I've really enjoyed the first 100 pages.

hearting: My sweet family. Definitely my two favorite Valentines!

I'm so excited to co-host Currently this month with Anne of Anne in Residence. Can't wait to read what you are currently up to!

  1. We just got some snow yesterday. I do enjoy having all four seasons here in NY, but I really wish I could just have spring and fall! I hope your daughter is feeling better. My daughter was sick last week. I usually read a book before seeing the movie, but Hidden Figures looks like something I'd enjoy watching rather than reading.

    1. I might have to agree about the movie being better than the book in this case. While the book is interesting, I've been getting a bit bogged down with all the names and backstory, but so far still a good read!

  2. Enjoy Nashville! We do have very up and down weather. HAHA. It's all about wearing layers.

    1. Yeah, it was pretty warm there last week. Last year it was bitter cold and raining and everyone on the trip got sick, so I'll take warm weather and healthy over the cold any day!

  4. Love this link up and I'm going to mark my calendar for next month. NASHVILLE (I have all the heart feelings for this city) My kids are both in college there and I went to college there as well (same school). We plan to retire there (currently living in CA😳) Enjoy your trip!!! One of my favorite places to eat is SATCO (San Antonio Taco Co) it's in the Vandy area.

    1. Yeah, it's been a bit of a warm winter everywhere this year, hasn't it? Less snow up north, and temps in the 70s and 80s down in the south.

  12. Oh have fun in Nashville! I went for the first time last year and had a blast. I'd love to read Hidden Figures--the movie looks excellent but I always like to read the book first if I can!

    1. I want to see the movie badly, but I'm trying to hold off until I finish the book. Since I've gotten too busy to read it lately, it might be awhile until I catch the movie. Oh, well...:)

  16. I feel like that dusting of snow is about as much as we've seen lately even up here in Ohio! Generally I'm not a fan of it, but back in December we did have a day during the week when we got a pretty significant amount of snowfall throughout the morning and I just spent my lunch hour walking around downtown because it was so pretty. As much as I complain about it, I would miss the seasons too if we lived in a warmer area!

    1. I do miss the seasons pretty badly. I have to admit though, I forgot how gray everything is in in the winter further north. Both when I went to Michigan and Nashville is was cloudy and kind of dreary the whole time, guess I've gotten used to the Florida sunshine!

  17. More snow?? I'm originally from Michigan, and after moving to the tropics I haven't seen snow in a few years but I'm totally okay with that!
