I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving! Though I'm not a big fan of Black Friday (I don't mind online shopping to avoid the crowds), in honor of the gift-giving season, I have come up with a Holiday Gift Guide for Him for $50 or less!
1 Neiman Marcus Square Cuff Links $22.50 (until Saturday, then $45)
Whether it's for your dad, brother or special guy in your life, you can't go wrong with a nice pair of cuff links. I especially like that this are polished and subtle. The cuffs are rhodium plated and feature a matte silvertone square design.
2 Fossil Leather Wallet $45
When I first met my husband, he was carrying around an old black mesh wallet that looked like he'd had it since he was 16-years-old. That Christmas I got him a very similar leather Fossil wallet and it's held up extremely well for almost six years now. The leather gets better with age and looks perfectly distressed instead of just worn. This wallet has a nice contrast trim, flip-out ID window, interior ID windows, currency pouch, slip pocks and eight card slots.
3 J. Crew Factory Plaid Bow Tie $19.50
Perfect for the dapper guy in your life, J. Crew Factory has several fun bow tie options. I recently got the navy and white polka dot version for my husband to wear to a friend's wedding and was really pleased with it! There's also buffalo check and for a bit of whimsy red with tiny elephants. Bow ties are so retro and trendy right now. Love!
4 Gerber Bear Grylls Card Tool $20
My husband has this tool and swears by it. When I told him I was creating this list, the first thing he said was "make sure you put a credit card multi-tool on it!" It fits in your wallet and has a ton of cool features: a fine edge blade, fire striker, bottle opener, Phillips and flat head screwdrivers, task light and ruler - all inside a 3.4" x 0.3" case!
5 Uncommon Goods Pick Punch $25
This pick punch is seriously cool. If you have a musician in you life, he'll love this. I got it for my husband a few Christmases ago and he still uses it all the time. There's something so satisfying about being able to punch something out of your old gift cards, credit cards, etc.
6 Man Crates Bacon Crate $49.50
Seriously, what guy doesn't love bacon? There's two flavors of bacon jerky, bacon popcorn, bacon salt, bacon brittle and bacon sunflower seeds. It all comes in a sealed wooden crate with a crowbar to open. I know my dad would get such a kick out of this! Man Crates have a ton of other cool crates featuring everything from food, retro video games, sports and grilling. They look like so much fun!
7 Dwell Studio Retro iPhone Dock $40
This iPhone dock is perfectly retro and would great on a bookcase or at the office. It is compatible with an iPhone (3, 3S, 4 and 4S) and iPod touch and would be a cool conversation starter as well as a great statement piece. Made of beech wood and brass, the dock utilizes your phone's built-in speakers and electronics. There's even space for a dock connector to be pulled through and allow your device to recharge.
8 How to Land and A330 Airbus by James May $13
If your guy is into the British Top Gear, or just loves cars in general, he's going to love this book by Top Gear star James May. Written tongue-in-cheek, May reckons there are nine vital things that a true man should be able to do including how to land an A330 airbus in an emergency, how to prepare and eat your best friend, how to deliver twins and how to defuse and unexploded World War II bomb.
9 Modern Gents Rescue Kit $29
This may be advertised as a hangover cure, but I know several daddies who could use this kit after an all-nighter with a newborn or sick kiddo. Designed to care for male skin, this set contains Peruvian maca root to help protect and hydrate skin. The kit includes a maca root eye rescue serum and maca root energetic face protector.
10 Express Patterned Socks Gift Set $29.90
Ever year I ask my husband what he would like for Christmas and I get the same sarcastic response: socks and underwear...so why not get him some really cool socks he'll actually enjoy? Better than plan old white crew socks, Express has several fun versions that are playful without being cheesy. In additional to green/blue there's red, white and gray; and black, white and gray options.
11 Chemist's Cocktail Set $29.99
For the mad mixologist in your life, this cocktail set is quirky and perfect for the guy who likes science or just appreciates unique stuff. The barware set is made from steel and borosilicate glass. Think of all the fun (and tasty) concoctions he could make!
12 Uncommon Good Great Mustaches Mug $13
Whether this is for the well-mustachioed gent in your life, or just meant to be ironic, this mug is super fun and manly. Featuring fourteen iconic and historical lip warmers from push brooms to handlebars, you'll find the facial hair sported by some of the great men of poetry, art, science and philosophy. Not sure which stache is which? A numbered answer key is printed on the bottom of the mug. I'd package it with some bold roast coffee and maybe a mini Jim Bean or two.
13 Wooden Watch Case $38
A watch case would be the perfect way to keep all his watches nice and organized and the glass top keep them nicely on display. This wooden box opens with a hinged lid, with a faux-suede-lined interior and four watch compartments. I'm pretty sure I'm getting this for my husband this year!
14 ManCave Candles $30
Okay, I know not a single one of the guys in my life (dad, stepdad, brother, husband) would actually admit to liking candles, but I know everybody likes for things to smell good, and how can you be embarrassed to like such traditionally masculine scents like leather and mahogany? This set comes with three different four ounce candles and burns clean for 25-30 hours. They are handmade in the USA with natural soy wax and self-trimming candle wicks.
I hope you enjoyed this list! Working within a budget and not sure what to get the ladies in your life? Check out the Holiday Gift Guide for Her and be on the lookout for the Holiday Gift Guide for Toddlers coming next Friday!
